Founder's Awards
The first awards goes to this car wash outside of
Bentonville, Arkansas, Happy Days Car Wash. It is almost like a theme park.
Beautifully done. It has both full and self service washing. The couple who
own this car wash are winning over customers with this 50's style car wash. Down the
street is another car wash which is really hurting. We can understand why.
The second award goes to Mister Carwash. This
company, with its 34 locations and growing, wins the Carwash Chain Award. Here is
one of their location in Boise, Idaho.
Notice the clean and crisp logo and use of
colors. A great example of good signage.
On this day, the
carwash was closed so we were able to land in the parking lot. Once in the lot we
noticed a sign apologizing for the weather. As if it were their fault, and sorry
they missed their loyal clientele.
| Here is an aerial view of their 25 foot tall
sign. We also compliment them on their low prices, to help consumers stretch a buck.
The layout is good, right on a busy street
location. Excellent!
Keeping with simplicity, the carwash starting
line is also well defined and commands confidence and action. |

We thank Mister
Carwash for their contribution to uplifting the industry in Houston, Austin, Round Rock,
Minneapolis, Salt Lake, Boise, Spokane and Kennewick, Washington. We have visited
all these sites and will be looking forward to seeing them expand their operations and
lead the field.

Here is their Spokane location in the middle of
downtown with a record of 1800 cars in one day. Wow!

As the industry faces challenges such as:
- Water Shortages
- Labor Issues
- Economic Issues
- Crime
- Underground Storage of Gas & Reclaim Tanks
- Consolidation
- Etc.
We will see the industry evolve. The strength of a team
and regional awareness will surely determine the market winners in this decade. How
carwashes adapt to control these challenges is yet to be seen. We wish Mister
Carwash and Happy Days Car Wash the best of luck in their quest for profits and market
share. It will be a pleasure to compete on the battlefield with them.
